The Development office at KSC is comprised of 7 employees which include a grant writer, two major gift officers, two annual giving officers, a corporate relations officer, and a prospect researcher. The Development office strives to raise funds from alumni, faculty, staff, corporations, foundations and friends of the college that will directly support current students. The annual giving office specifically raises money for the KSC Fund which is the annual unrestricted fund that supports the greatest areas of need on campus. Through direct mail pieces, the Phonathon program, social media, regional and national events, the Development office builds lasting relationships with our donors, friends and alumni.
The Annual Giving office at Keene State College seeks an intern for the 2014 spring academic semester. The Annual Giving (AG) intern will assist the AG team in overarching projects that support: fundraising for the annual fund, fundraising for athletic teams, fundraising from faculty and staff members, promotion of student philanthropy on campus, and assisting with the student driven Phonathon Program. More specifically, the AG intern will help with crafting and executing spring appeals, assisting with travel planning, developing and overseeing student philanthropy events, and other office tasks.
• The AG intern must be able to work independently
• The AG intern must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The AG intern must have confidence using the entire Windows suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc)
• The AG intern must stay up-to-date with current campus events and news
• The AG intern must be personable, energetic and enjoy working with adults
• The AG intern should be interested in fundraising and working in a nonprofit setting
This is not a paid internship but credit can be given when coordinating with a professor. The estimated number of hours the AG intern will work is 7-10 hours each week, and the schedule can be flexible.
